Rainy Day
It is a rainy day in D.C. today, so I thought I would share a recipe with you guys! I love the smoothie bowl trend and have recently found and amazing recipe (with the help of my smoothie bowl obsessed friend). This recipe is a peanut butter lover's dream. It is modeled after the "PB&J bowl" at South Block, a very popular smoothie company in the metro area. This bowl blends a nice blueberry flavor with banana and peanut butter to create the perfect instagram-worthy smoothie bowl. While going to smoothie bowl places being gluten free can limit topping option, such as granola, making bowls at home leaves the topping opportunities endless. I like to top my bowl with a nice spoonful of Udi's granola in vanilla flavor, a scoop of peanut butter, bananas, blueberries, and of course a nice helping of chocolate chips. Try out this recipe and let me know what you think!
Materials/ingredients:
-Blender
-1 packet of frozen açaí
-½ banana
-1 frozen banana, broken up into 3 pieces
-a handful of blueberries
-½ cup of frozen blueberries
-1 cup almond milk (or any kind of milk to your preference), you might need more milk to help the smoothie break up in the blender
-1 or 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter (I love peanut butter so I load it in, if you are less of a fan you can add as much as you think you would like)
-¼ cup of Udi’s granola
-a small handful of chocolate chips (or dried fruit if you would like to be healthier)
Instructions:
1. Add frozen açaí, one scoop of peanut butter, frozen banana, frozen blueberries, and almond milk into the blender
2. Blend until smooth, or desired texture, you may have to add more milk as you go
3. Wash the blueberries and set them aside
4. Cut the banana into thin slices
5. Pour the blended smoothie into a bowl
6. Top the bowl with the cut up banana and blueberries
7. Add the granola and extra scoop of peanut butter on top, then shower with chocolate chips
8. Grab a spoon and enjoy! Also now would be a perfect time for the artsy instagram picture :)
