Honeygrow
I wanted to do a post about a restaurant around Capital One arena because of the Caps recent success. I went to Honeygrow, which is an asian stir-fry style fast food place. It reminded me of a chipotle but with stir fry. As with most fast food restaurants, I was hesitant about cross contamination. I had seen that they had gluten-free listed on the menu online, so I was fairly confident they must know about proper preparation. I ordered on a touch screen kiosk and there was no section for comments or allergy alert, but I went up to the counter and informed them of my allergy and asked for clean equipment and a change of gloves. They were totally accommodating, and my meal was delicious! I got the “make your own stir fry” with rice noodles, shiso walnut basil pesto, green beans, edamame, mushrooms, shrimp, and it was topped with a dusting of sesame seeds. The stir-fry can also be made gluten-free with brown rice. It was totally affordable, but very high quality yumminess! I can not wait to go back! Also the to-go package is so adorable and VSCO worthy.
Go and try it out at 716 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20001. There are also locations in Pentagon City and Reston! Here is the link to the menu: https://www.honeygrow.com/menu. Remember to follow @glutenfreeyesplease on instagram for updates about the blog!
